And so it began… 

Our around the world adventure started last year in autumn and we really didn’t know how travelling together would be. We managed all that rollercoaster feelings, the good and the bad ones, all the challenges, fears, illnesses, all that luck, love and cultural experiences. We travelled almost a year together. But as we all know: time flies. So when we hopped on that plane back home to Austria our hearts leaped and we again didn’t know what to expect. Imagine – after such a long time abroad, living the nomad life, looking forward to friends and family but also already looking back at the best year in our entire life.

Travelled a year together. A lifetime to go.

As we got to the „Monument of the Discoveries – Padrão dos Descobrimentos“ during our stopover in Lisbon, jumping around on this huge 14 meters wide world map, called „Compass Rose – Rosa dos Ventos“, showing all the routes of the Portuguese sailors during the Age of Discovery, from one country we’ve been to another, talking about our great memories, telling stories, laughing, holding each other,… I absolutely didn’t expect such a huge romantic final of our trip.

And then there he was: asking me to marry him. And all that right at this beautiful spot, a world map within a compass. And it couldn’t have been more perfect!

… and I said YES!
